Biography
Dr. Samson Udho is a dynamic nurse-midwife, educator, and researcher from Uganda, passionate about transforming healthcare through evidence, equity, and empowerment. A Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery at Lira University, Samson brings over a decade of academic and clinical experience to the virtual classroom.
He holds a Bachelor of Nursing and a Master of Nursing (Midwifery & Women’s Health) from Makerere University, Uganda, and earned his PhD in Nursing from the prestigious University of Cape Town, South Africa. Recognized as one of Uganda’s top 500 emerging scientists by the Alper-Doger Scientific Index in 2022, Dr. Udho is a rising voice in the global health landscape.
His research centers on operational research to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes, scaling interventions to eliminate intimate partner violence, and strengthening health systems to deliver rights-based, gender-transformative sexual and reproductive healthcare, especially in sub-Saharan Africa. With a strong commitment to evidence-driven solutions, Dr. Udho is equipping the next generation of health professionals with the skills to create impact where it matters most.
